Here in Nevada, we are all under a 30 day quarantine recently passed by the Governor. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has made it’s way through our state and has all our major businesses completely shut down. We are actually on our Spring Break, with an additional week long extension at the end of the month, with the potential of an extension dependent on what occurs in the next few weeks. With that being said, I have been spending a ton of time trying to think of alternates and back up plans for all the “what if’s” that are swirling around. In this time of the unknown (INTO THE UNKNOWN!!!!) (I see what Elsa was doing…) I have loved seeing all the educators, parents, families and communities come together to focus on the good, and take this moment in stride. This time in our lives won’t last forever and instead of looking at all the bad, we have been taking a deeper look at the moments that we have right now. The time to spend with one another, do a puzzle, snuggle on the couch, play a game, read a book, build a snowman (get it!?) and just cultivate some really special memories. I created this website as a way to stay connected with my students, bring awareness of resources and try to be a light in all the dark of the world right now.
